A very warm welcome to the 2025 academic year. I also extend a special welcome to our new students and families - we are so glad that you have joined our wonderful College community.
Whilst our students took a well-deserved break, our team have been working very hard in preparing for 2025. I am excited to announce that the year begins with the opening of the music block and senior classroom, along with covered walkways between these buildings (see pictures below). We praise God for his provision!
In addition, we are finalising architectural plans for the installation of a cover over the student waiting area of the pick-up/drop-off area and aim to have this erected as soon as possible.
Student Services
Student Services will now be in the library. Students who are requiring any support (stationery, spare hat, first-aid etc) will be referred to Ms Fisher who will be stationed at the library desk. Signing students in and out for late arrivals and early pickups will continue to be done through administration. I am confident that this change will better support and serve our students.
Excursion/Camps Consent
In the age of technology, Jubilee will be moving all internal camp and excursion consent forms online. Consent forms will be sent to families via our school app and email. External providers may still require paper-based consents for some activities.
Being a Gospel-Centered School
At our all staff meeting last week, we welcomed guest speaker, Timon Bengston. He shared his philosophy of Christian schooling, which resonated with what Jubilee seeks.
"A gospel-centered school places the gospel of Jesus Christ at the heart of everything. The gospel is not just the entry point of the Christian life but the foundation, the motivation, and the power for all aspects of its life and ministry."
I pray that Jubilee will serve you well this year and enable your child to flourish.

A warm (but soggy!) ‘welcome’ to the new families at our College and a heart-felt ‘welcome back’ to our existing families. What a marvellous start we’ve had to the academic year. Although it was quite wet, the rain didn’t dampen student spirits as they socialised with friends they haven’t seen for 6 long weeks! I am happy to report students have settled into a new learning space with a new teacher and some new classmates without a hitch!
The entire campus was buzzing with energy and broad smiles all round. I’m so proud of how our Preppies have settled into new routines and a new environment so smoothly. Our mums and dads have been fabulous in the way they’ve supported and encouraged those who were a little reluctant to wave goodbye. It’s great to be back at school and we are all looking forward to another amazing year ahead as our College campus continues to grow and expand. We are so grateful to have you on the journey with us!

Primary News
We’ve had a wonderful start to the new school year! The classrooms have been buzzing with excitement as students settle into their routines, get to know their teachers and make new friends. Across the primary school, we’ve been learning about the importance of kindness and forgiving others. It’s encouraging to see students setting a great example of being kind to each other both in and out of the classroom. We’re looking forward to a fantastic year of growth and learning!

Secondary News
I hope this newsletter finds you well! It is with great joy that we welcome you back to Term 1. I am excited about the opportunities this school year holds for our students and am grateful for your continued partnership and support.
Year 7 Camp: We are thrilled to announce the upcoming Year 7 Camp from 19th - 21st February at Barrabadeen! This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to bond, learn, and create lasting memories together. Please mark your calendars and keep an eye out for the permission slips that will be emailed out next week.
Celebrations from the week: We want to take a moment to celebrate the warm welcome back to Term 1 that we have experienced. It has been heartwarming to see the students reuniting with friends and teachers, excited to embark on new learning journeys. We are proud of our community spirit and the enthusiasm our students bring back to the classroom.
Additional Information As we move forward this term, I would like to share this verse: Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." This message reminds us of the potential within each student and the bright future that lies ahead. We are grateful for your ongoing support in making our school community a nurturing and inspiring environment.
Your involvement makes a significant difference in our students' lives. As we look forward to a fantastic term filled with learning and collaboration. Let’s continue to work together to support our children’s growth

Welcome to the 2025 academic year. I am looking forward to this year and what it will bring.
We have had some exciting changes in our Senior Phase. We have a new senior room, a building dedicated to our Year 11 and 12 students, with space for them to hang out and enjoy their time. It is nestled behind the current high school building, opposite the new Music block. Parents, if you have an opportunity, you are welcome to come in and take a look.
There is plenty on the events calendar this year for Year 10, 11 and 12 students. Ones to make a note of now:
- The FNQ Senior Camp will be taking place in Week 7 of this term. What a great opportunity to have fun, spend time together, build confidence and try new things.
- This year all Year 10, 11 and 12 students will participate in RACQ Road Safety programs. Each is tailored to the year level, with Year 10 focussing on getting ready to drive, Year 11 on working towards their P’s, and Year 12 being P-platers. We have run this program for a few years now, and it has been a big success.
I am here to help support both parents and students through Year 10, 11 and 12. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.

From our SWAN team
This year we are pleased that our Students With Additional Needs (SWAN) Team has expanded on campus. We have two experienced SWAN Teachers along with Teacher Aides and Support Officers, all of whom have a heart for supporting students to reach their potential here at school.
'Additional Needs' can include formally diagnosed needs, social and emotional supports, academic difficulties or giftedness. Some additional needs are short term and some are lifelong. If you feel that your child needs additional support at school to be their best, please chat to your child's teacher or get in touch with the SWAN team.

Welcome back to Term 1. The Jubilee Jets are hitting roads for training on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15pm - 4:15pm. Fundraising efforts commences on Saturday 8th February with a Bunnings Sausage Sizzle, followed by our Trivia Night on the 21st February and a second Bunnings Sausage Sizzle on Saturday 22nd February.
We have had three major sponsors come on board for 2025. SIX Gym, Healthwise Physiotherapy and Bega (Dairy Farmers have taken on major sponsor roles for the Jubilee Jets). Sponsorship opportunities are still available to support the team. Our charity for 2025 is MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship). We are seeking to raise $5000 for the work MAF does in our region. Links to the MAF fundraising page will be available soon.
The team commenced training in Term 4 last year and are very keen to improve on our record time set last year. Lots of encouragement and laughs are had on training days. The support crew are super keen to be involved and help the runners reach our team goals. We will be having team meetings in the coming weeks with runners and support crew.

From our Chappy

I'm very excited for 2025! One reason I'm feeling excited is that you will see me around the school a lot more this year as I will be on campus every Monday, Wednesday & Thursday!
Kindness is the focus topic for the next few weeks across the all the year levels in Christian Studies and in Chapel. Keep the kindness conversation going at home, take some time to chat as a family about the day and if any acts of kindness stood out to your students. A smile, a kind word, or a small action can brighten someone's day and create a ripple of positivity that spreads through our entire school community.
This week, I encouraged our highschoolers to make kindness a part of their everyday interactions. Whether it's helping a classmate, offering a listening ear, or simply being there for someone, every act of kindness matters.
With kindness,
Chappy Molly
